I used to sell discount gas rates to businesses. It was a door to door job. I HATED it, but I did really well.
Here is a secret I picked up that should help everyone here.
NEVER EVER go in and ask for the manager or owner. Immediately you send red flags that you are a salesman and the person behind the counter will try their best to make sure you do not see either one.
Instead, do what I always did...
Remember to smile and make direct eye contact (but don't over do the eye contact thing. You dont want to freak the person out)
"Hi, is the big boss here?" Make sure to point towards the back when saying this and nod your head at the same time.
