I purchased the 9 X 12 system looking for it to change my life. I spent the last money buying some sample post cards. After one hard week of cold calling in the heat (107%) I got shut out. I left a sample with the gate keeper to give to the owner. I followed up with them only to find out they lost my sample and I felt the owner never saw it. I really need this to work. Does the email system really work? Can you get the email address from Google? Does Bob Ross phone system really work? Looking for advice. I am down and almost out.
Thanks for your Help----Mike mwnewt@cox.net

Never Never Never Never.... do this.
Only hand your property to the person who writes the check. The info always seems to get lost and your trip will be doubly wasted.
We don't know much about you to specifically analyze your situation. But there are a few things you need to consider about your overall situation. How's the economy there, wherever you might be? Is it strong and thriving or is it more like Detroit where they are about to plow down 25% of the city and start over? Let's assume the economy is OK.
How's your appearance, do you look like Charles Manson or some one that a bizz owner can trust with a chunk of their money?
Next, how's your pitch or gift of gab? You might need to develop it some. There are millions of books on amazon and videos on you tube. But.... some of the best stuff I have read (brilliant, and gets right to the point) was by Claude Whitacre for $1.99 on Kindle/Amazon.
Do you have a job to cover expenses until you've reached a stable income and publication with your postcard? There will be expenses for various marketing methods you'll need to introduce yourself to the public.
Right now you are new, unknown, and unheard of so, bizz owners will be cautious of you until you prove yourself. You need to introduce yourself to your area and, you need to turn cold leads into warm leads.
Use Info Free or something like it to identify the actual owners. Then send them something (information) as an ice breaker and to demonstrate that you are somebody they need to know. There are hundreds of ways to launch this phase such as, Lumpy Mail, letters, flyers. postcards, referrals and more. Again this is the icebreaker phase. Send them something then follow up by calling them.
Show them you are intelligent without being an over anxious, desperate, nutjob that will become a pest. You should expect several points of contact before you have an actual meeting.
Everybody is different and will surprise you.
Some will buy minutes after you open your mouth while others are more stand offish and require you to build a working relationship. I once signed an attorney in under 5 minutes while standing at an Office Depot and, I was dressed like I was going to outdoors keg and volleyball party. You never know. You do need to develop that "gift of gab". Basically, you are fishing.
Email has worked for a few, the phone system requires some skill since you would be calling businesses blindly. For instance if a business has several employees, chances are very high that the owner won't be answering the phones. The underlings will answer the calls, causing your messages to be nearly wasted.
Those things are tools just like a hammer. They "could" work but you need to get yourself established before you spend money on a giant toolbox overflowing with thousands of dollars of tools.
Keep in mind,
Apple and Google started up in garages and, DELL and FaceBook started up in dorm rooms.
After making thousands of mistakes they grew.
There are about 25,000 posts here. Some of the very best covering your concerns are at the very beginning of this forum. Yes it will require some research unless you have extensive sales experience.
Good luck

Mike did you get to talk with any owners at all or just gatekeepers? I think you probably should get some email action going and then prospect the businesses nearby while you're out on any appointments set over email. You can definitely search out emails through google, I do it all the time from lists I compile of businesses that I haven't reached out to yet.
You may be able to do the selling right over email as well but it is nice to get there and show them a sample.
Leaving samples with gatekeepers can be disastrous, as you experienced. I would only leave them a rack card if anything.
