I suggested this giant shared postcard idea in a LinkedIn forum and several people are intrigued. I don't remember Jake if there's an affiliate program that I can sign up for - but would also like to be able to tell someone "Here, talk to ____ and they can help you get this going in your town."
Please PM me.
THanks!
Diana
PS Some of you may remember me - I'm still doing web design - focused mostly on small brochure-type sites now - but not the postcard. Never could get it off the ground here, although I continue to think it's an awesome idea and admire those of you who are doing great.

Thanks, Chris - so if someone wanted to do a card in another state or NOT re: wine, you can't help them?
There are lots of wineries in my area - hmmm! How do you approach them, maybe I can help!

Diana,
Are you talking about helping them to get a spot on someone's card or to start a co-op service for themselves? If the latter, perhaps they should just buy Jake's program and join the forum.

Yes!
If they wanted to start their own postcard I wondered if Bob/Jake has an affiliate program so I can buy through that link.
But I also wondered if they said "No it's a great idea, I know some business owners who'd like to try it but I don't know anything about printing or direct mail" - well, if someone could help them remotely.

Something just doesn't sound right here.
I'm a little confused here Diane but if you never purchased Bob's products how do you have Multiple Cards Completed?
And if you have purchased his products and you followed his instructions why would you need to know specifically about printing when you could help them?

Let me take a stab at this: Diana was an early participant in the Bob Ross bag of money making opportunities. She did some cards, created a very nice web site for her program but ultimately decided that her strengths were better applied to her web work than card slot sales.
I think that she is now asking if anyone offers an affiliate program that would allow her to sell the card concept to interested parties in her circle of influence but then the producer would deal with all of the print, price, schedule details and Diana could go back to doing what she really enjoys and quite frankly, is pretty darn good at. Web sites.
Diana is also asking here if there is a need/opportunity for folks to use her simple but effective web sites to boost their own direct mail offerings.
I admire Diana a lot. She recognizes what she is good at and although is willing to try new things, she is wise enough to realize when it is time to return to the tried and true.

Thanks so much, Tim! Yes, you understand what I'm wanting to do, and thanks for the compliments!
I can think of lots of ways to use my expertise in conjunction with what y'all do - at least I'm willing to explore possibilities, if it's okay with Jake/Bob.
And yes I COULD still do the printing - I have connections because of my business card website, and accounts at trade printers - but decided to focus on web marketing. After all, I can come HERE and find someone who can help a client with direct mail or postcard marketing, right? At least that's what I wanted to know - one reason for my original post.
Like yesterday I was thinking that if you have unsold spaces, you could put an offer for a small business website for XXX amount - and you can charge the customer more than I'd charge you. I know when I tried some CPA offers on the cards I did that they didn't work well for me, but I usually did have a space or two that I wanted to do SOMETHING with...
Or you could offer to put up a landing page in the client's ad, so they can collect email addresses.
I will help/advise y'all however I can as far as websites, web marketing, etc.

I'm laughing - my 15 seconds of fame! Couldn't believe a CBS Producer found my business card website. I got an email about it, said they wanted a business card expert for an upcoming episode of The CBS Sunday Morning Show - and I didn't believe him. Had to go look the guy up to see if he REALLY worked at CBS.
They were going to just come to my office, but one of their questions was do people really USE business cards (AND PRINT MEDIA) any more. I said yes they do and invited them to a Chamber of Commerce breakfast so the producer could see people exchanging cards.
They were probably in town interviewing me 6 hours but not much made it to the air - so yes I had my 15 seconds of fame.
No I didn't design Hillary's card but I have it - I have a business card collection. I have Donald Trump's card. One from a sex-themed restaurant in Greece (quite an interesting two-piece card.)
The business card interest came up after I published a local directory of home-based businesses in the late 90s. Business owners would go buy some ugly generic cheapie business card and expect the world to beat a path to their door. So I decided to write a book about designing/using business cards effectively.
So that not only got me interested in print marketing - it got me interested in making sure marketing actually WORKED.
