Hi all,
I got my first buyer for my 9 X 12. In my attempt to make it all official, I am providing a Sales Agreement to my new client.
Is it correct that only I need to sign it...seems odd somehow.
I really see it as more of a "here's what I am going to provide" record. It's nice to have in the event of a disagreement.
Should the client sign it too???
Thanks in advance.
Raleigh
Of course, if I could remember where the heck I copied it from, I'd ask that person.

Maybe if you put a copy here it would be easier to take a look at it? And yes, makes more sense that both of you need to sign it,

There are lots of awesome "documents" on DocStoc.com
yes the customer needs to sign it and agree to a few things: Like when is payment due, delivery date, their requirement to proof read their own ad,,, publisher reserves the right to,,,,,,,,,, and a few more.

Hi Raleigh,
Good job on your first sale! Remember to ask them "what other smart and savvy business owners like yourself do you know that we should include on our Local Marketing Co-op TEAM?"
The sales agreement you mentioned might be mine. It is very simple and only signed by me. It is more of a glorified sales receipt.
I am not at risk because I pick up at least 50% down to start ad creation and the other 50% when they sign off on their ad proof. So I have collected 100% before ever going to print.
I use the "sales agreement" to help them feel confident about their purchase decision, understand exactly what we will provide, have my email for them to forward logo and artwork files, and I list ck#, amount, 50% or paid in full with date and my signature in the top right corner.
Keep Taking Massive Action to get the rest of Your Card Filled,

I have been using an agreement with 50% of the page being "fine print". It is a waste of paper.
Nobody reads it.
The main part is the order form up top where I record the advertisers information - name, address, phone number, email address, cell phone, etc. In addition, I record which spot they are going to advertise and also what they want to advertise.
Don't get caught up in putting together a lengthy contract with alot of legal talk that isn't worth the paper it is printed on.
