This is so incredibly easy and common sense…yet I doubt some folks would think to implement it.
When starting out with this 9x12" system, we need ALL the help & resources we can get to build rapport, trust, and credibility with our advertisers. Something just happened to me last night that smacked me like a ton of bricks! My father in law was looking for a place to hold an annual high school gathering with about 25 buddies. Through NO INITIATIVE of mine, he went into one of the taverns that's currently advertising on the mailer….was greeted by the manager with whom I did business with….and…
wait for it…..
wait for it….
had the bright idea to flash one of my 9x12 postcards upon entering….and said in a completely convincing way to the manager that THE POSTCARD WAS THE REASON they decided to go there….to get 20% off their meal. BRILLIANT! I plan to do much more of this over the next 2 weeks……getting friends and family in the area to take advantage of a few deals and kindly bring my coupons with them! Now this may or may not work for everyone based on your location and proximity to your advertisers with friends and family….but I'm willing to wager that many of you COULD be doing this to add a little boost to our credibility. Your welcome ; )

That is DEFINITELY a great idea Gregg, totally awesome. All it really takes is one person to tell the owner they came in because of the card. That even rings true for a billboard for example... if one person comes in and says they see their billboards all the time and just figured it would be the best place to go... they'll feel like the billboard is "working".
Very simple and very very very effective idea, thanks for sharing it with us.

Hey Gregg, Jake, & Everyone,
Maybe we should Mastermind this idea a little further. Gregg mentioned his father in law had a group of 25 people that needed a place to hold an event. So in addition to just family & friends lets figure out a way to go bigger.
What if we went direct to these different sources like hobby groups, poker groups, school groups, sports teams, senior groups, sewing circles, church groups, boy scout/girl scout groups, social media groups, meetup groups, reunion groups, business network groups, single mingler groups, rotary/charity/chamber groups, post event parties, poetry slams, trivia contests, amateur comedy groups, etc and enticed them with our 9x12 to use our clients restaurant facilities to hold their group get together as well as getting a great discount.
Please post any ideas you have for additional groups(maybe a group where you are a member) & especially easy ways to approach and make contact with these groups.

Great ideas Zen!
As we three know:
it's not about us….it's really not even about our advertisers..it's about the customers! And targeting large groups of customers is a darn smart move to help boost bigger responses.

I would normally say "Meetup.com is your friend" but, right now they're suffering a DDoS attack. They don't seem to be the only ones this weekend, either. But if they were up, that would be a great place to find groups of people who get together regularly.

How much enticing do you plan on doing? ;)
Is a sharply discounted spot on the postcard a decent enticement? A spot for the group's local charity? Announcement of the group's fundraiser (depending on group type)?
Just thinking out loud here...
Meetup.com is back online and currently they appear to be normal compared to before.

THAT, may I say...is BRILLIANT! What biz owner in his or her right mind wouldn't LOVE seeing a LIVE R.O.I (return on investment) as PROOF they are getting what you promised them!?! Heck, the businesses themselves could even do a drawing for customers who actually do bring in the card to show them (and not a facsimile) for a free prize! Maybe a free dessert or drink! That would make the customers happy and also excite the business owner to do more repeat business with you! A real win-win for everybody! P.S--You owe father-in-law a free Thank You, dad, dinner! LOL!
