One of the main reasons for my delay in getting my butt in gear doing a 9 x 12 was FEAR. Fear I didn't know enough, fear I would say the wrong thing. Whatever, it's all an excuse anyways. My point in saying that, now that I'm talking to people everyday, is I find hilarity in these engagements.

If you have been reading this forum for any length of time, I guarantee you know more about direct mail and print than most of these business owners. One of the products that sells in the marketplace, tells of a tracking software that you can tell when someone opens your email and how many times.

I had a prospect who advertises in everything they can in my area. So I sent them an email. In two days they opened it 43 times. So you can guess that I called them on the phone.

I got a cocky owner on the phone, she wasn't even listening to anything I was saying. She was talking to hear herself talk. She told me she never got the email, and she reads every email. blah blah blah She finally said she knew what she was doing and didn't need to know anything about my offer. So I thanked her and hung up. She was rude. In the last week, she has opened that email 120 times.

Hilarious...When she see this card rained down on this area in the next six weeks. Then we'll see. I've gotten a competitor of hers on the card now. She is a pea-brained business owner. It makes getting a no, funny. So if you're a person afraid of rejection like I was for so long. These kinds of encounters make it so much easier. You totally know they are gonna regret it later.

So please don't be afraid, get outta your comfort zone, and do the work. Get yourself these tools that the members have taken time to create just so someone can have success like them. Invest in yourself. Go to the marketplace thread and buy everything in there. Cause everything costs. Time or money or both. Plus, you just might get a good laugh today!

Now I can imagine what you were probably thinking as she was talking talking talking lol. I freakin' stumbled and stammered on my first call with a salon and had to breathe! My caller wasn't like yours thank goodness. She actually was pretty sweet but those be the ones who say "I'll get back to you" and... you know the drill.
