Hi Folks,

I have my 9x12 samples & was trying to figure out optimum weight for cards in UK,

250gsm, I assume would be too flimsy & 400gsm maybe too heavy?

Can anyone help as I'm assuming 300gsm is the best.

Thanks in advance as I'm trying to get my costs figured out.

300 or up to 350 gsm is perfectly fine!

no problem, some day I'll make it out there and see what it's like across the pond!

The difference between 256gsm and 300gsm is noticable, but the price difference is minimal. We use the same as you in Australia. I haven't come across any printers here offering 350gsm as a standard option and haven't asked for a custom quote on it. Ask for samples from your printer, or go to a printing/stationery store and check out samples. We have Officeworks and we went there to check out samples and get a mock up printed.

Hi Artee,

appreciate you chiming in here, thanks that is very helpful.

We live out in the sticks, so I'm trying to do this as "remotely" as I can & also appreciate your tip about visiting a print shop for samples (my next move if no one here could help), but thanks to you & Jake taking the time to answer my question, I saved 2 - 3 hours by not going into town.

Thanks again,

PeterC

DiamondPed, I'm also out in the sticks and an hour from my target location just now, so need to do things remotely as well. In addition, we are about to become mobile and travel across Australia so it will add another dimension of challenges to our endeavours.
