Question about EDDM mailing

Hi,
I was going through the info for my town. I was getting a total of about 4,200 residents/businesses. I know in your guide, you said do not use P.O. boxes. However, if I do add the P.O. boxes, it comes out to about 4,800 residents/businesses/p.o. boxes. My question is, would you target this town as a stand alone, use the p.o boxes and sell it as a 5,000 mailer? It is a small, but very affluent town.

Hi Peter.

It's a good question. 9x12's are going to clog up PO boxes pretty bad so keep that in mind (you don't want to piss off the postal people). I see your point though, you want to get as much volume as possible considering you're printing 5000 anyways.

Personally, I wouldn't send them to the PO boxes and instead I'd keep the 800 for samples, and distribute some of them around town as well.

One thing to keep in mind... you said residents but you meant residences. 4200 residents would only be around 2000 residences.... so 4200 residents is actually reaching a population of likely 9000+
