Hello everyone good afternoon. So I have been making phone calls; strangely some of the businesses i contact said that someone did a 9 x 12 for them before, sent 10,000 of the giant postcards, and they received a very low response.
With a great offer and seeing as the 9 x 12 stands out I don't understand why their response have been so low.
I don't want to get blacklisted in my city lol (business owners talk)
I understand Zenyatta has did over 20 cards and localbiz has done a large amount..
What are you doing to make sure that they have great response?
Why are they getting low response to a 10K piece mailing?
Your opinionos are very much appreciated.

Hey YRD,
If you target the right people, with the right message (Free/Half Off), with the right medium (a true 9x12), at the right time - then you will be successful.
When you are talking with these business owners ask to see their 9x12 they did and I bet you will find 2 things. The majority said they did a 9x12 but only a few will have actually done one. They either did another type of mailer or say they did a 9x12 to weed out the weak sisters. The few owners that did a true 9x12 probably had a weak offer or didn't keep up the repetition to make it successful.
Where are you prospecting?

Im prospecting in Georgia; The area i am doing, most of the people don't advertise online. I just use Yelp. Right now I am cold calling. I feel like I would get a better response cold walk ins.

#1. you tried to SELL on the phone. Big no-no. Yet at least you now know why you never sell over the phone. The phone is to arrange meetings only. Don't reveal exactly what you have or your 9x12 methods.
#2. The phone is an easy out for them. In other words, while on the phone they can and WILL say anything to get rid of a salesman who is disrupting their daily work routine. You could have offered them a big bag of money and guess what? They already have one ! And the one they have is bigger and better than yours. They'll say anything to get away from the phone call.
A 9x12 flyer with black printing on "pink" printer paper is going to fail big time especially offering something lame like 10% OFF or,,, a free beverage when you purchase a dinner for two. Totally different and inferior presentation.

Thank you, those tips are Gold! I will see how it goes with using the phone to set appointments. Thank you all for the advice !

I' struggling to secure sales despite hitting up those businesses in my Immediate area over 15,000 homes. I have one nutrition store wanting one large ad. I did not get to see all the business owners but most liked the idea but were disillusioned with advertising. I will go back around as there's plenty of money in the area why are the stores not wanting to cough up....

to prove a point to those small business owners you should consider whipping up a info page to hand them and give them something to think about.
List a number of easy recognizable brand name mega company's that use direct mail every month. You can find lists of them in google.
Pizza Hut
Kohl's
Bed Bath & Beyond
Target
McDonalds
Pappa John's
Macy's
JC Penny
American Express
Discover Card
DirecTV
Dish Network
AT&T
and so on,,,,
People and the bizz owners see this stuff in their mailboxes in one form or another they just aren't connecting the dots.
Demonstrating / proving ,, those company's spend millions on direct mail because,,,,,,, it does work.
Create a nice little page short and sweet, You just want to trigger the light bulb in their head's so,,, no information overload.
A possible headline might be THESE MAJOR CORPORATIONS INVEST MILLIONS ON DIRECT MAIL EVERY YEAR
list the companies and close the page with something like,,,
BECAUSE... IT WORKS WHEN DONE CORRECTLY.

When a bizz owner says something along the line of "direct mail doesn't work"... leave them something like this to think about.
With the reassurance that, just as there is a difference between a Ford Pinto and a Porsche Cayenne,, there are drastic differences between direct mail providers.

If they fail to see the logic of marketing themselves with a higher quality direct mail provider... it's time to move on.

Now this is a sweet way of saying it without actually saying it!!!

Here's a cleaner version without the background blocks and minus the phone number for you to add your own number.

Regarding the "FREE campaign" offer,, there are several ways that can be done.
#1. Ask them to furnish some number of hot leads / interested bizz owner's for your card. 3 to 4 face to face meetings with new prospects which will soon convert into cash paying customers is worth giving away one free run to the source of the leads.
#2. Require them to purchase 3 to 5 runs upfront and get one run FREE. Sure money and less driving for you.

Thanks for the AD-vice (Pun intended) :D
I have a meeting with a restaurant owner.
I have been studying Oren Klaff, that business owner is about to get framed like no other.
