Hi everyone,
I got some rather bad news yesterday when I returned to work. I will not be there past January 15th. I am a single parent, and I am rather scared to say the least. I have been researching this opportunity for about a month. I can't go a week without income coming in especially now in my situation, so I am wondering how this has been working for some of you. I am tired of working for someone else anyway, and since I can do this at home, I don't have to pay for daycare. That would be great! I am concerned with my lack of sales knowledge, though, so hopefully that won't hinder me too much.
I figure if I can work this along with my current job, by the time the 15th comes along, I should have a few spots filled and not have to worry about money or looking for another position.
Thoughts or your experiences so far...thanks!
That stinks.
First, you have to lose fear. Different people do that in different ways and it is rarely an easy task. The details, knowledge, information and wisdom that are required for success are contained in this forum.
Some get it, master it, and go on to dominate their local market. Some don't.
The difference is not in the forum, for the information is available equally to all. The difference is in the individual.
We all have what it takes. Again, we all have why it takes.
Just some of us keep it buried, scared to death of our own fears, hang ups and shadows. It is a ****-ton of work. It is hard. It sucks. But those who are determined to succeed and are willing to take the action that winners take, will succeed.
And many here are willing to help.
What do you need today?
Heidiss

Tim4,
That is so true! I do have some fear about it. Maybe because it is all up to me to create money out of nothing, and I am used to the security of a paycheck. On the flip side, I can't rely on anyone else to pay my bills except me. At least I know I won't lay myself off!
I suppose things happen for a reason and with this job ending very soon (hell, who am I kidding, it could end tomorrow) I need to take things into my own hands and make this work for myself and my family. It's been working for others. I just need to get over the fear.
Thanks a lot. That has put a lot of things into perspective for me!

Heidi,
If you've read all the info that's here you are equipped to go out and sell. That said it's always easier when you have a security net beneath you, but this will work and could pay more than your regular job.
I'm taking the leap this Monday having just located a few graphic designers to create the ads, site set up and samples ready. If there is anything I can help you with please let me know, albeit I have yet to take action it's ready to go Monday ...
Just having the latest sample ads and the ability to design the ads & layout will allow you to sell this fantastic solution

Thanks for the support, Photoads! I am going to go for it. I really have nothing to lose. All I know is that I can't lose another job. It is so stressful to be on the receiving end and looking for another job makes my skin crawl. I am just tired of someone else dictating whether I stay or go. I just need to stay focused and just do it!

You have just shy of six weeks until February 14th.
So consider doing a Valentine's Day card.
Should be much easier to sell with a holiday theme especially to restaurants, florists, jewelers, salons, and other businesses catering to women.
Are you in a large city or small town?
For fast cash I would offer ads for $400 and discount down to $300 and no less, if discounting is EVEN necessary to close the deal.
Since it's a holiday theme at an affordable price, which is anything below $500,, you should see quite a bit of interested bizz owners.
When they ask you "how many have used your service?" remember you are not alone. This forum is your "corporate foundation" reaching across the USA from New York to San Diego, and from Miami Florida to Seattle Washington and everywhere in between. Therefore, hundreds if not thousands have signed up and enjoyed success with strong returns.
Sign as many as possible. Your first attempt you might have to settle with a 6X12. Then again you might fill a 12x15, which would be almost 30 ads at $300 each totaling Nine Thousand dollars for you. Sounds good huh ?
Remember to share with them, and chat with them. Don't put yourself under pressure as you try to recall exactly what Zig Ziglar or some other sales god might say to close deals. Casually share the benefits, and the card and it's power will almost sell itself.
Don't hesitate to tell a hairstylist that you need a "hairstylist" on your Valentine project,,, it can be their business or the other hairstylist their competitor, 2 blocks away.
Practice in a mirror.
Practice on some sales person in a business that you have no intention of placing on your card. This will eliminate stress and pressure and provide a real world practice exercise.

Hi Heidi, (love you name by the way :) ) I've been in a very similar situation as you. From my experience it was the hardest thing I ever went through! This 9x12 card really made me look fear in the face, and I just simply had to get over it because I was painted into a corner. If you put yourself in that corner with just this postcard to sell to make ends meet--it's going to be stressful. I promise. I know because I was super-stressed. There's no question that the 9x12 card does work---but it's really a matter of overcoming your fears initially--and believe me those fears can be hard to overcome...lol. Being a single mom you already have a lot of responsibility on your shoulders...if you can do this on the side initially--in my opinion that would be the best way. I'm telling you because I just came from that situation and it was HARD. The postcard didn't work as quickly for me the first go round as it did the second. If I could offer you any words of wisdom from my experience I would say to still look for another position and work the postcard on the side so that you're not feeling "desperate" to fill spots and you go at this with confidence and motivation. My experience was not something I'd wish on anyone..lol. Working the postcard to pay rent and your bills is much different than working the postcard because you are working towards making it a full-time income. :)

Hi Heidiss,
I'm not sure what your professional background is but like Amber has mentioned, approaching this business while unemployed or with limited income can be very stressful.
I would suggest you begin looking for another job asap and execute your job search from a marketer's perspective.
What's a marketers perspective you say? It's a matter of researching companies, their executive decision makers and contacting the decision maker directly for a job.
As a former executive recruiter, I know that companies would love to minimize employee, staffing recruiter fees depending on your level of employment.
If you can show in detail how you've either saved or made your current and past employer revenue as a direct result of your work efforts, this would probably be well received.
Please keep us posted and ask questions should you need clarity about anything. There's no room for embarrassment as many of us have been in similar situations.
I'm sending positive energy your way.

I appreciate all of the help so far. My dilemma is pretty simple though. If I don't find a position in a couple of weeks that pays the bills and daycare, then I don't have anything. If I start doing things now to fill up the card, then I might have a little money from a paying customer. It seems a bit like a double edged sword right now. I can say that the jobs are pretty sparse as well, being the end of the year, so I am not sure what to do. I am feeling a little bit stuck.

Open one, Chase will let you do that with just a last name followed with what you do, i.e. Smith Consulting, Smith Marketing, Smith Direct Mail or whatever you are calling yourself. Use your last name FOLLOWED BY xxx when someone writes you a check and you should be fine,

Thanks for your response but it still doesn't fully answer my question. I guess it's my fault for not being more specific.
In Amber's latest product, Postcard Fast Profits she speaks of credibility and the local co-op guide director positioning.
Without giving too much away, I was simply wondering when it comes time for receiving payment if the payment source had to match or sync up with how we're positioning ourselves?
For example, if I'm the Miami Co-Op Director, would the business need to set up to say the same thing in order to receive payment?

@mojo
If I understand your question right... if you sold me an ad for the Miami Co-op, I would make out the check to whatever your company name is, whether its Miami Co-op or Mojo Enterprises. Doesnt matter. YOU are the credibility, not the company name. Keep in mind you are offering the client something NO ONE ELSE has offered them, nor have they even done it on their own. You are helping them reach people in a way they have never done before. Direct mail works. More important will be the OFFER they make. I truly believe that "business goes where it's invited." You are going to put their invitation into 5K or 10K homes. Remember there are potentially 2-3 people in EACH household that maybe able to take advantage of the offer (dependent upon the type of business.)

Amber has not been active in this forum for almost a year so it's probably better if I migrate it over to a thread in the main forum. I've given you guys access though to the subforum in the meantime. I've been having great success with the deal strategy on the card and will be including my experiences and tips in a guide coming soon. This is a huge money-maker and has been getting easier and easier to do.

Been killing it with frozen yogurt and planning to hopefully continue it in during the colder season coming up as there's lots of competition and they'll be hungry for whatever business can be generated. It took me a while to get everything up and running (did my first deal in March then didn't do any more until recently) so I don't have a large amount of data but I've had good success so far with restaurants, frozen yogurt, pizza, and pet groomer. This month I'll get to run a sail salon, oil change shop, bakery, and hopefully some more.
This is big money guys.

Yep I'll add you right now, but the subforum hasn't been very active since Amber focused more on coupon books. The idea she had of running deals on your card is fantastic I just never was able to do it because the logistics of delivering and managing the deals wasn't streamlined. Now I've got that down so I'm really excited about how this is unfolding for me.

taking a % of voucher sales.
If you take % of voucher sales, don't pay vendors until the voucher is redeemed. Many vendors flake out and won't accept their own vouchers. You need to make sure, you have enough money to cover voucher refunds.

I see talk of a sub-forum for this. I bought it about a week ago. Payment Id: AP-8RD57991091525333
Can I get into that?
Thanks

The video says it is private, so I cannot watch it. Also, the button works, but is it still worth getting, 2 years later???
Does it still take me to the info?
Richard
